The Weatherization Assistance Program (WAP) assists low-income homeowners with making their homes energy efficient through the installation of cost-saving measures, such as:
Attic insulation
Low-flow showerheads
Water heater jackets
Energy efficient light bulbs
Weather-stripping
Energy Recovery Ventilation (ERV), including bathroom and kitchen exhaust fans
Repair or replacement of exterior doors, windows, refrigerators, water heaters and cooling and heating systems
Note: Assistance has been temporarily put on hold until further funding becomes available.
Mailing application to your nearest Community Resource Center or place in drop box available in front of all centers (applications and supporting documentation should be placed in an envelope with your name on it)

Reside in Miami-Dade County
Be 18 years or older and possess a valid State of Florida ID
Be a US Citizen of have legal permanent resident status
Have a total household income that does not exceed 200% of the federal poverty guidelines
1 member in household: $25,760
2 members in household: $34,840
3 members in household: $43,920
4 members in household: $53,000
5 members in household: $62,080
6 members in household: $71,160
7 members in household: $80,240
8 members in household: $89,320
For each additional member in household with more than 8 people, add $9,080
Have a valid Social Security Card for all household members
Provide proof of income for all household members for the past 12-month (last six paystubs, 2021 SSA or SSI award letter, 2021 pension or retirement statement or unemployment compensation)

Notarized letter verifying the dollar amount of how much and how often, if someone is assisting you (attach income documentation such as pay stubs for the person assisting you)
Income Self-Declaration Form
Proof of homeownership (warranty deed, combined tax notice or mortgage statement)
Mechanical Measures:
Clean, tune, repair or replace heating and cooling systems
Install duct and heating pipe installation
Install programmable thermostats and other HVAC controls
Repair and replace water heaters
Install water heater tank insulation
Insulate water heating pipes
Install solar water heating systems
Install waste heat recovery devices
Health and Safety Measures:
Complete combustion appliance safety testing
Repair or replace vent systems to ensure combustion gas draft safely outside
Install mechanical ventilation to ensure adequate indoor air quality
Assess fire hazards, install smoke and carbon monoxide alarms when needed
Evaluate mold and moisture hazards
Perform incidental safety repairs when needed
Building Shell Measures:
Install wall, floor, ceiling, attic or foundation insulation
Complete blower door testing
Perform air sealing
Repair or replace primary windows and doors
Install storm windows and doors
Install window film or solar screen windows louvers and awnings
Repair minor roof and wall leaks prior to attic and wall insulation
Electrical Baseload Measures:
Install efficient light sources
Replace refrigerators and freezers with energy efficient models
Wind mitigation inspections and grant awards available
